Today, on Election Day, November 6th, Vote Anthony Pappas for Congress in New York's 14th District. Dr. Pappas vs Ocasio-Cortez: Professor vs Student of Economics. They lied about him and defamed him because he is not beholden to media and special interests. His only love is to serve you, the people. Now show him the true power of the people. Get to the polls for the sake of America, the country we love, like family, through the good times and the bad, all of us united in harmony!

*

Win or lose, the campaign team for Professor Pappas will be gathered on Election Night at McCann's Pub and Grill; 36-15 Ditmars Boulevard, Astoria, Queens. It's been a wild ride through a bizarre election season! We will close it with the message we started with. It has not changed:

For the first time in many years, New York’s 14th Congressional District will have a new representative in Washington this November. That representative must be Anthony Pappas, a soft-spoken gentleman with decades of professional experience who believes that the people are best served by collaboration and not confrontation.

Tony is no politician. His high sense of principle prevents that from happening. With humble roots and a proven quest for equal justice, he has the ability to bring people together for any just cause. He is a long time professor of finance and economics at St. John’s University with a PhD from Yale University.

This job requires an independent statesman who can not only think outside the box but can also deliver on his commitments to the people. The United States Congress is crucial to the people of Queens and the Bronx who comprise our district. That is because we are harmed daily by gridlock politicians with antagonistic characters who are dividing our nation, tearing people apart to the point where moms and dads are being needlessly separated from their children even in our own family courts.

We are a union of diverse people but above all, we are an American nation committed to the ideals that made us so great. Socialism has never been one of those ideals. Yet it has been enthusiastically embraced by Tony’s opponent despite profound rejection by free thinking people in Europe and both North and South America. Tony is committed to the same rejection of socialistic ideology. And that makes him a union of both Democrats and Republicans this November.

Staunchly Independent, Anthony is beholden to no special interest. He is not seeking personal greatness. If elected, he will patiently and caringly listen to each and every constituent who contacts him for help. With Dr. Pappas in Congress, every voter of the 14th District can rest assured that his or her voice is being heard. We finally have a highly qualified candidate who will put you first!

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Dr. Anthony Pappas at a recent candidates forum in the Bronx sponsored by NAACP

*

Despite being seated next to her opponent this past week and delivering one way speeches before a live audience, Ocasio-Cortez continued to dodge debate challenges including one she cancelled that was long set for October 17, 2018. Dr. Pappas, a PhD Yale professor of economics at the prestigious St. John’s University was prepared to debunk all her bizarre proposals as a student of economics. Professor vs Student!

.

After claiming to be unafraid of Donald Trump, she showed how afraid she was to confront Professor Pappas. If she won’t debate a senior citizen in her district, how does she expect to take on highly experienced lawyers and economic experts in Congress? Making a big show out of school is one thing, but playing the same game she’s condemning of elite politicians places her today in the same position, a total fraud. Called to task about her own complaints against Joe Crowley for dodging debates during the primary, Ocasio-Cortez showed her hypocrisy by asserting one lame excuse after another.

Campaign Meeting Set For Sunday, November 4, 2018, 2 pm at Sheraton Four Points, Long Island City, Queens

*

Queens and Bronx county Republican leaders took no interest in New York's 14th District when Professor Anthony Pappas first interviewed to run for Congress. After all, in a district with a 6-1 voter registration of Democrats over Republicans, the chances of victory were daunting. It seemed no one could cite a time when a Republican won a race for Congress here. Many incumbents in other districts of the two boroughs did not even have a Republican opponent. But is there any legitimacy to a local Republican party which complains publicly that their endorsed candidate raised only several thousand dollars for an uphill congressional race while the party itself raised zero?

*

However when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez upset incumbent Joseph Crowley in the June primary, that all changed. Suddenly would-be candidates came out of the woodwork on the delusion that they had a much better chance of victory. Their numbers grew with each major news interview which exposed Ocasio-Cortez as an incompetent socialist with a real problem for telling the truth about nearly everything. The only problem now, in light of the reserved character of their nominee, a move had to be made to replace Dr. Pappas on the ballot.

*

When various groups and party leaders could not get him to surrender to the latecomers, a smear campaign was unleashed in revenge. First, Ocasio-Cortez backed out of an October 17, 2018 debate. Despite news releases from the Pappas campaign calling her out for dodging the issues, news media did not report it. Nor did they cover numerous other releases on the issues sent out since the June primary. When Ocasio-Cortez was publicized time and again during a self-promotion crusade across the country, Dr. Pappas was not contacted for comment on any of her radical views. But when it came to the candidate's 14 year divorce case, nothing was spared. Suddenly the moderate Republican candidate was a headline story, a real villain ripe for liberal exploitation.

*

The real story will hopefully come out one day. The facts: Dr. Pappas was falsely accused by judges later disqualified from the Pappas divorce case for bias or misconduct. Their reasons were conveniently left out of the court record, and they did not even retract those false statements after they were replaced. Instead, when Dr. Pappas sought to hold them accountable, they elevated their retaliation with defamatory orders now being exploited by "inquiring minds" ignorant of the true facts. Those"minds" tend to forget the many judges sent to prison for bribery, extortion and federal crimes, i.e. Brooklyn divorce judge Gerald Garson, disgraced New York Chief Judge Sol Wachtler.

*

So committed was Dr. Pappas to his innocence that he reported himself with the false orders and findings to the District Attorney and U.S. Attorney's office for prosecution. Now how often does a truly guilty person do that? After reviewing the divorce record and accusations, no criminal action of any kind was taken. That was nine years ago. But in today's ugly world of political mudslinging, anything goes, no matter how false or how remote in time. Issues truly important to the people were ignored. Voters were disenfranchised by a media blackout of the true candidate.

*

The other one is now the new face of Socialist America!

*

Reminder: Our last campaign meeting before election day will be held this Sunday, November 4, 2018, 2 pm, at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel, 27th Street and 39th Avenue, Long Island City, Queens (a few blocks north of Queensboro Plaza and subway stop). We need all the help we can get and welcome all supporters to meet the real candidate. Spread the word!

Unbelievable! In a last minute scam, Ocasio-Cortez cancels debate set for October 17th

Yes, you read that correctly. After challenging Dr. Anthony Pappas to a debate one month ago, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has announced her no-show at a debate set for this Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Her Republican opponent had quickly accepted this challenge in early September, and this debate was long scheduled to occur at PS 69 school auditorium in Jackson Heights. It was arranged by a Queens Latino news organization.

The excuse given by her campaign manager last week is a newly announced condition of attendance by all candidates. This was announced with full knowledge that incumbent Joseph Crowley, defeated by Ocasio-Cortez in the June primary, was no longer campaigning on the Working Families party line (a third party which has never elected a candidate without major party backing on another line).

While professing to promote the poor and lower class to earn her first success in any election, Ocasio-Cortez is now deceiving them with a self-promotion campaign across the country which finds her in one television appearance dressed in a $3,000 outfit and $600 shoes. By dodging her only debate, she is acting exactly as Joseph Crowley did when dodging her own demands for more debates during the primary season. At least Mr. Crowley appeared in one television debate and cancelled none.

While also proclaiming publicly that Donald Trump was afraid to confront "a girl" during her self-promotion crusade, she is now afraid of a senior citizen who happens to be a professor of economics at St. John's University. Dr. Pappas was prepared to debunk all of her myths about a socialist system and spending plan of "free things" having a $40 trillion price tag according to an independent research organization. The Ocasio-Cortez plan could only be satisfied by taxing the lower and middle classes.

She is also dodging a commitment by Dr. Pappas to call her out on a foreign policy position for ending the "occupation of Palestine" and U.S. "colonization of Puerto Rico." She may be the new face of the Democrat party, but she is definitely not the face of America. Please support Dr. Anthony Pappas for Congress with needed donations on this site and volunteers to spread our message limited as it may be for now in a mass distribution of palm cards.

It is time for the voters of New York's 14th District to call out Ocasio-Cortez for what she truly is at the election booths on November 6, 2018.

BREAKING NEWS: Debate between Dr. Anthony Pappas and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez now set for Wednesday, October 17, 2018, 7 pm at PS 69 School Auditorium, Jackson Heights, Queens, New York. Spread the word and let's get Tony's supporters there!

A reminder: campaign volunteer meeting is tomorrow at 2 pm, see our posting below for details.

Campaign Volunteer Meeting set for Saturday, September 29 at 2 PM. Please stop by!

A meeting of volunteers has been set for all those interested in electing Dr. Anthony Pappas to Congress here in New York's 14th District (
east Bronx and north Queens). The meeting is also set up for those interested in stopping Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from becoming our first Socialist member of Congress. It will be held this Saturday, September 29, 2018, 2 pm, at Park Avenue Elevator Designs; 18-60 42nd Street; Astoria, NY 11105. All are welcome, you do not have to be a resident of the District, and we encourage everyone to share this message. Please bring along other supporters.

The race in our District has gotten national attention as Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has been traveling the country promoting her bizarre economic ideas. For example, she was recently called to task on CNN for her spending plan which would cost our people about $40 trillion. That estimate came from an independent (but liberal-leaning) research organization. Ocasio-Cortez is relying on a "make the wealthy pay for it" scam which was shown to raise only $2 trillion for her spending spree. She could come up with no sane answer for making up the $38 trillion difference. In honest, plain terms, that means she would have to raise taxes, fees and even rents on the poor and middle class to get all her "free things" paid.

On the foreign policy end, Ocasio-Cortez announced that she would seek an end to the occupation of Palestine by Israel (and Puerto Rico by the United States). When called to task again during another news program on the realities of this, she back-pedaled before admitting that she was not a "
geo-political expert." She also had no answer for the vast loss of disaster funding and economic assistance which Puerto Rico would suffer if it became an independent state. A recent 28-year-old college graduate with a Bachelor degree in economics, Ocasio-Cortez has shown a gross level of incompetence on the national stage. Now she proposes to do more of the same as your congresswoman.

You deserve better, much better, and the answer is Dr. Anthony Pappas, a moderate, independent Republican with a motto of producing "sensible solutions for a kinder, caring world." Dr. Pappas has a Ph.D. from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT. For decades now, he has been a professor of economics at St. John's University. In short, the campaign for Congress in New York's 14th District may be likened to a contest between professor and student.

Unfortunately, the avowed Socialist candidate has a giant campaign war chest, and the media is not even responding to our news releases. Therefore we need your financial support
by a donation made on this site. Or you may send a check (maximum $2,700) to "Anthony Pappas for Congress" P.O. Box 6362; Astoria, NY 11106.

CAUTION!

Social media, videos, and emotional speeches may sound convincing, but when reality hits on the congressional stage, a disaster awaits us with Ocasio-Cortez, the newest extremist. We must all get serious now, unite as true Americans, and stop this Socialist invasion. Only a small fraction of voters turned out at the June 26th primary election. Now we must hear from the rest of you on Election Day, November 6, 2018!

Candidate Debate Confirmed between Dr. Anthony Pappas and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

On Thursday, September 21, 2018, our campaign manager was contacted by QueensLatino news publisher, Javier Castano, to confirm a debate between the two major party candidates in New York's 14th congressional district. We were assured that Ocasio-Cortez had already accepted his invitation, and we quickly agreed. A school auditorium was tentatively announced as a location with the date and time to be arranged. We will keep you abreast of this development as we call on the Ocasio-Cortez campaign to accept our request for three more debates in other parts of the district during October.
